I think batgirl has room to grow. I enjoyed it so far. I like how they are going towards the social media route with this one. Babs is adorable and so are her new friends.

The 4 stars are for the art. I mean it. It’s that great. The story is nothing. No real villains, the characters were bland and lame. The story is rushed and the text is bloated. The plot should have been rejected out of hand. But the art is SO good! I want to read this again and again and just take apart the layout and stare at the art. This is an art book and the plot is just an excuse to showcase it.

I got about halfway through and I can't read anymore. the New costume is awesome, the artwork is actually pretty neat, but the story and the way these characters interact is too much. I think the book is targeting towards a much younger audience.

This is probably my all time favorite batgirl! This book has a brainy capable female protagonist and also have a ton of diversity AND current issues throughout the volume. We all know Babs is smart but in this volume you get to visually see her intelligence! You see her visually retrace her steps when she has to think about a party, you get to see her take out BLACK RIOT (a villain about issues of online privacy) out by using a QR code, and while saving the world she is trying to save her research thesis from her when her computer crashed! The art for this graphic novel is what made me fall in love at first glance It deserves 5 stars for the art alone!

Not one of my favorites, I was hoping for more of a back story to see how Babs got into the crime fighting biz, but unfortunately that's never really gone over. This volume covers several small crime fighting stories that end up all interconnecting in the end. There are good villains, action, and plot but overall i wasn't that impressed. The illustrations are great, but I wasn't in love with any of the characters. Meh.

Al principio me pareció una aberración. El salto y cambio de unos autores a otros, es muy brusco y la verdad es que me shockea; más aun cuando pasa a ser una serie tan colorida, light y banal. De todas formas hubo escenas que me entretuvo y el giro final del arco hizo que le tome algo de importancia.
El estilo no me disgusta, al contrario, hay comics que me gustan demasiado con este estilo o uno más simplista, pero en el caso de Batgirl, creo que le quita algo de seriedad. Se que Batgirl es una versión entre la integilencia/invetsigación de batman y el carisma de Robin, que muchas veces se ha buscado eso, pero no siempre lo ha sido. Ha tenido arcos y momentos de su vida bastante oscuros, -como toda familia de bats tiene- que no son necesarios el 100% del tiempo, pero esto creo que se va demasiado al extremo en lo colorido.
Ahora leeré los otros dos volumenes que quedan de New 52, a ver como avanza el personaje y esperar solo lo mejor para cuando lea Rebirth.
PD: detesto que siempre la hagan tener citas.

My first Batgirl comic. I loved the art, and the diversity of the cast (though agree with some reviews that felt characters like Nadimah felt shoehorned and didn't get to do a whole lot besides smile and nod while Batgirl talked). I often felt like I might be missing some backstory or should've read another comic previous to this one to understand the relationship between Barbara and Dinah, or who Alysia is, but I guess that was inevitable with a superhero and universe as old as Batgirl and Gotham, even if they are revamped to be younger and trendier. I think I'll keep going with the series and hope some more exposition and character development in later issues will resolve some of my holdups with the first volume.
