as are all of Alice Oseman’s books this was a very easy read, the short chapters are just *chefs kiss*. the characters were also very likeable and diverse which is always rly nice to see. bonus points for having a trans character, multiple lgbt characters and a hijabi Muslim! such a diverse cast is so rare in books these days i feel.

to be honest i found myself not being able to really really get into it because the band and fandom theme wasn’t really my thing but it was still good nonetheless.

I found this book to be enjoyable and a pretty quick read. I found Angel to be a really annoying pov character at first but she grew on me as the story went on. I definitely felt like there was a lot of nuance with the characters overall, which I definitely appreciated. It was also kind of interesting to follow two sides to the same story.

I didn't think I would like this book because it was not on a topic I was used to reading about, but the story of Angel and Juliet, of Jimmy, Rowan, and Lister, really surprised me in a good way. Every character had their flaws but it didn't make them any less likeable, and I know this is far-fetched, but I would love a sequel of this one day.

This reminds me so much about a fanfic I wrote once. It got very ridiculous at times

and I am still confused what Fereshteh did wrong and why so many characters had something together. Her "obsession" with the band did not seem as bad as everyone was making it out to be. The whole plot from the concert onwards was very meh.

I wanted to add this after reading some reviews: Yes, maybe when Fereshteh thinks about how much she loves the band, that is showing some flaws but still, that is her internal monologue and I have not really seen anything like that in her interactions with other people.

However, I love how Oseman writes diverse characters.
