I’m always interested in what strikes me as I reread books from my childhood versus what I remember being important!

Some things that really hit me on this read:
Silena’s final stand and Clarisse’s reaction/Drakon slaying; Annabeth and Luke’s complicated relationship and feelings not only being the thing that brought Luke back into control, but being what fulfilled the prophecy, a familial-undefined-pretty platonic-but-maybe-not relationship that is difficult to have in middle grade stories but works so well here; Ethan Nakamura’s redemption/legacy; and shockingly, I was really overwhelmed by Rachel assuming the position of Oracle, as I’d forgotten May’s story and the risks.

I love how a lot of campers that pass get a moment in the spotlight, whether we’ve known them for long or not— it shows how young and how brave they are, and through Percy’s POV, we feel how tragic it is that he and we didn’t know them better. Overall such a strong conclusion to the first series.

I think this was the perfect ending to my favorite YA series of all time. Emotional, funny, fast-paced, extremely suspenseful and a satisfying ending. Plenty of twists and still keeps the signature charm of Percy's narration while entering into darker and more mature topics. I love it so much I can't write more or I'll start crying! Percabeth forever <3
