✨ Thrifted ✨
I don’t know much about Stanley Tucci outside of his acting, so this was the most touching book to find at the bookstore 🥹
Part time memoir, part time recipe book, ‘Taste’ is cosy and lovely. I curled up in bed and read it in about 3 sittings; I really enjoyed it.
I was unaware that Tucci had lost his first wife through cancer and went through a battle with a tumour at the base of his tongue… This is detailed in the book, and obviously it’s saddening but is also balanced by the delightful family dynamics he and his family hold 🥰 It really showcases the vitalness of community!
This book gets a solid 4 out of 5 stars from me, thanks ✨

This was a delightful read! Light, funny, and interesting, it was a joy to listen to the author talk about food. It made me hungry, inspired, and eager to eat foods from all over the world. I've recently been reading a lot of heavy and serious books, so this book brought a lovely sense of balance to my reading. Would recommend to food lovers!

If you are into movies, food, or just a Stanley Tucci enthusiast, I belive this is a must read. We are taken through all the stages if this man's beautiful life, with every stepping stone being marked by a tremendous recipe. How cool ??? This is a great concept. Super inspiring and I would say an impeccable way of thinking about food. The book doesn't dig into the intimate details or his life, he stays invulnerable the whole time, but it just touches on some very real issues, without the gory side of a memoir where we feel like we are intruding.
The Hollywood name dropping is immaculate as well if you're into that sort of thing.
Overall it's a great inspiring summer read by a man everybody would love to spend the evening with, without being a pretentious book by a non-writer pretending to be what he is not.
