✨ Thrifted ✨

I don’t know much about Stanley Tucci outside of his acting, so this was the most touching book to find at the bookstore 🥹
Part time memoir, part time recipe book, ‘Taste’ is cosy and lovely. I curled up in bed and read it in about 3 sittings; I really enjoyed it.

I was unaware that Tucci had lost his first wife through cancer and went through a battle with a tumour at the base of his tongue… This is detailed in the book, and obviously it’s saddening but is also balanced by the delightful family dynamics he and his family hold 🥰 It really showcases the vitalness of community!

This book gets a solid 4 out of 5 stars from me, thanks ✨

I chose to devour this as an audiobook while away in the mountains last month and it was such an immersive way to experience the life of Mr Tucci.

Learning his family recipes, and different places he’s cooked, baked, eaten and more was truly beautiful.

Couple that with stories about his family, some film sets, and overcoming cancer, this was a moving story that served more courses I could have imagined.

So charming. I had no idea that Stanley recently overcame a bout of mouth cancer. I can't imagine how terrifying that was for the omnivorous actor. Read the audiobook, but not on an empty stomach.
