I was very excited to see this book as a Pigeonhole read. I really enjoyed One Split Second when I read it with this amazing online book club. I did enjoy The Legacy but not in the same way I enjoyed One Split Second.

The Legacy is about a family whose father, Jonathan, has recently passed due to Motor Neuron Disease and has left strict instructions in his will. These extraordinary instructions leave his son Noah and the two daughters, Liv and Chloe, the ex-wife and live-in girlfriend in shock. How will they sort it all out?

Bond, as I have experienced previously, has a talent for writing intriguing stories that revolve around family dynamics. This book did not disappoint in that respect. There were a lot of moments when I was unsure of the direction of the story, let alone the outcome. It was difficult to like any of these characters. They were almost likeable but you had to try very hard. Something I am not a huge fan of but then I suppose that was the point of the story and Jonathan’s will. The Legacy certainly kept me wanting to read more as I am always hoping for characters to redeem themselves.

Bond’s writing was as lovely as ever. I enjoy the way she tells a story. The only fault I have with this story was its lack of excitement. But I honestly don’t think it is a fault, to be fair. It was a different story that required a different pace and I think Caroline paced this story well.

I did enjoy The Legacy, despite not liking the characters and them not redeeming themselves in a way I felt they should. However, it wasn’t my story to tell. It was Caroline’s and she told it beautifully. I look forward to her next book. I am officially a fan of this wonderful writer.

As I said, I read this book with The Pigeonhole. I am truly grateful for the experience and am happy to leave this review to share it with you. It’s another recommended read for me!

Thought I'd try something different from my usual books (thriller or crime) was different but... I missed a shocking end. This book is ok if your looking for a different read
