I really enjoyed this. It was raw and emotional while also being sweet and sexy. The way they learn to love and heal together is absolutely beautiful. Sometimes I was a little lost in the world building or the story moved a little slow but it didn’t detract from the story. A great read!

This is a sapphic paranormal romance between a nephilem former demon hunter, Cassiel, and a succubus, Avitue. Cassiel has left her abusive family behind, and now owns a small bookshop on earth, living in the apartment above it, (aka, every bookstagrammer/booktoker's dream. It sounds SO cozy). Cassiel struggles with feeling unlovable, directionless, purposeless, and simply unworthy of unconditional love that she has no idea exists. Not to make this about me, but Tamara Jeree, why are you personally attacking me?! *sobs in eldest first-gen daughter*
Avitue is a succubus who is ordered to avenge a fallen demon, with Cassiel as her target. Sheesh! Though they pretty much encounter insta-love when they meet (which isn't my favorite, but once you read the story, and see how deeply their backstories connect, you will get it), I deeply appreciated their individual and combined journeys in following their hearts, rather than meeting expectations and demands from others who never should have had a say in their lives in the first place.
While I struggled with some of the pacing, the writing never let me down because it was gorgeous, lush, and flowed so beautifully. Also, the steam was steaming! I will read any steamy scene from Tamara Jeree, WHEWWWWWW (like, grab your vibe honeys, I'm just saying....)

Absolutely loved this book! Was not expecting insta- love but was pleasantly suprised at how the Jerée portrayed the relationship. I also really enjoyed the way Cassiel’s fears and traumas were written. She had such amazing growth throughout the book and I can’t wait for the second!

THE FALL THAT SAVED US is a heartfelt and tender sapphic romance between a nephilim and a succubus, dealing with toxic family and how hard it is to start over when pain is familiar.
This is set up to get at least one sequel, but the story told here is very satisfying even if nothing else follows it. Cassiel and Avitue are a great couple, figuring out how to get past the baggage of their pasts and the demands of their present in order to have any shot at building a future.
The main storyline deals with the romance between Cass and Avitue. Their relationship has several outside forces who would detest their relationship and try to destroy them if they're discovered to be colluding instead of in opposition. Learning to love one another advances both storylines, putting Cass against her family and Avitue against her fellow demons, though Cass's family are more relevant to this particular story. There's also a strong and complicated bond between Cass and one of her siblings, complicating her willingness to entirely sever ties with her family, if it's even possible.
I enjoyed this and I'm interested in reading the promised sequel.

Okay but this was so cute and wholesome and I loved it so much. The angel and demon trope is always so refreshing and makes the reader question what it means to be good and evil. this book did have some triggering content and it felt very emotionally charged. I loved all the quietly intimate moments and there is just something about a sapphic F/F read that really expresses all the beauty in love. love really does conquer all and heals and transforms a person. love is where true power lies and the story of Cass and Avitue is so heart warming. This story felt more acceptance of oneself and almost coming of age rather than a story driven by a plot per se. just overall a perfect read especially right before valentines day <333 Think book feels PINK with a splash of purple (from Avitue of course)

Moody, sexy Sapphic urban fantasy romance between an ex-demon hunter and the demon who was sent to seduce and destroy her but ends up helping her heal.
This is such a promising debut! I enjoyed this so much. At it’s heart, it’s the story of a woman learning how to love and trust after leaving her abusive family – against the backdrop of a centuries long war between angels and demons.
There were some pacing issues and a couple plot holes. The first 3/4 ish is stronger than the last 1/4 – and I’m not sure I really buy the ending, including the way the HEA is set up (I do believe they’re in love and happy together). But I didn’t care that much because I just loved the main character, Cassiel, an ex-demon-hunter turned bookstore owner, and I was so invested in her growth and happiness.
It's an interesting mix of cozy and dark. There's a lot of cozy comfort in this book – Cassiel’s bookstore, her best friend’s coffee shop and the way the succubus Avitue initially woos her with beautiful teacups full of fragrant tea. But be warned that the dark parts are pretty dark. There’s disordered eating, self harm and so, so much shame. Read the content warnings at the beginning of the book.
It’s told entirely from Cassiel’s POV, in close 3rd person. She left her horribly manipulative and abusive mother and the rest of her family 3 years ago but is still recovering. Her mother insisted that extreme denial, asceticism and self-punishment was necessary to connect with their angelic heritage and be effective demon hunters. Cassiel really struggles with that – with learning not to deny herself and to not punish herself for her desires. I loved how Avitue helped her connect with her desires and her power. But it’s not exactly an easy journey.
