I finished reading this within a few days, the plot and its many twists made it difficult to put down. I loved how quickly I grew to like the main characters determination, empathy and sarcasm. I feel the D.I Kim Stone books could quickly become one of my new favourite series. If you enjoy police crime drama such as Vera or Scott and Bailey then this book is perfect for you.
Moderate: Child abuse, Rape, Adult/minor relationship, Violence, Pedophilia, Fire/Fire injury, Emotional abuse, Animal cruelty, Grief, Pregnancy, Murder, Bullying, Child death, and Schizophrenia/Psychosis
