This novel should have been called "Characters Make One Bad Mistake After the Other In Order to Move the Plot Along."

Seriously.

Yet it was truckloads better that the silliness of "After Midnight." Now that's scary.

This was not a horror book to me. And really had nothing at all to do with vampires. It didn't scare me at all. It was a wee bit of a thriller at the most. I hope Mr. Laymon's other books are scarier.

Not my favourite Laymon. It was not as exciting as his other books and it dragged on and on. I could not wait to finish it and never read it again. I give it 2 stars because I like the author's style of writing, but this one missed the mark for me.

Full of twists and turns. I liked it because it is odd.

I’m getting really tired of Laymon’s tendency to promise me vampires and then spend 95% of the book on things that aren’t vampires. When we meet in hell I’m kicking the guy in the shin.

Also I’m glad that Bill yanked Cat’s fetus out of her piece by piece. This bitch is so dumb she has no business breeding. Every single aspect of this story could have been fixed by someone having a single brain cell but why have that when you have what feels like 700 pages of nice guy pandering to do?

What a terribly boring, definitely-not-in-on-the-joke, disappointment of a book.
I slaved through the pages and endless descriptions of Cat’s body and their every actions, hoping the ending would be the ultimate conclusion, explaining some (if not all) of the foolishness.
It seems Laymon then realized he had written enough pages that his publisher demanded, and stopped – abruptly. The kids get scared and the adults live happily ever after.

Boo

I started this expecting to not have a satisfying resolution, and I was right. I hate that feeling of no resolution.
