Suspense!
I love a smart female heroine and Jillian is super smart. If I had ended up in some of the situations she was in, I would be dead, and I am not dumb. Once I got to the last third of the book, I basically just had to sit there and read until I was finished. It's nonstop. Jillian does not sleep, so neither did I.
I did not see anything coming. Like, nothing. I'm not generally the person who tries to figure out the book ahead of time, I just enjoy the ride, but this was more of a rollercoaster. If you enjoy being overly concerned about fictional people, this is your jam.
