Cute story

The story is a very fast paced, at times hilarious, and heartwarming one.
Dixie was such a fiery character! She was most definitely no pushover. Mac was a handsome, stubborn man that I loved instantly even when I wanted to choke him!

I can't wait to read the rest of the stories in the series, the supporting characters all left me wanting more.

Maggie Adams is a new to me author. I'm very impressed! The story of Mac and Dixie is sweet...made me smile more than once. While each of these strong characters has a temper, they have such depth and warmth that truly make them believable. There is sweet romance, there is mystery and intrigue, and there is the hotter side of romance as well. This is set in an area that I'm familiar with, so it was fun reading for me. I highly recommend this book! I can't wait to read the next in the series.

I don't even know how to handle this book. On the one hand, there was definitely an intriguing plotline and lots of banter and chemistry. On the other, the men were all very "charming", meaning there was a lot of catcalling, inappropriate comments, patronising attitudes, and taking liberties with personal space and property. At one point, the hero called the heroine a "bit of baggage", and he liked to kiss her without warning or permission. But he was handsome so it was ok? Anyway, more thoughts to come, but this feminist is mega-conflicted by her enjoyment vs all the problematic stuff in this book.

Great story! I loved the characters specially Mac. Dixie is a very strong character and I liked that she was very protective of her little brother Jamie.
I also liked all of Mac's brothers, specially Chance.
The bantering and arguments between Mac and Dixie were entertaining but sometimes I was mad because I felt like they could have avoided some of them if they just talked. I do believe that the big difference in age and the lack of experiences from Dixie since she is still very young and naive was the problem when it came to all the fights. But the story is entertaining and I enjoyed it.
You do need to read book 2 because the conflict was not resolved in this book.
We do get a HEA and the story is very romantic even with all the little fights between Dixie and Mac.
I am looking forward to reading more from this author.
