It was so confusing. The storylines bounced around from the start and I couldn’t keep up.

Three Missing Days is the conclusion in the Pelican Harbor series. You’ll need to start with book one as all the books follow the same characters. Jane Hardy is the police chief of Pelican Harbor, and things take a bad turn for her and Reid Dixon when their son is implicated in a murder. Someone is out to destroy Jane’s family, and she and Reid try to track down a killer.

Three Missing Days is my favorite out of the series. This story has quite a bit of suspense and drama. What’s a mother to do when her fifteen-year-old son is being framed for murder? Jane finally gets to resolve some of her issues with her family and her past. Plus, Jane and Reid develop their romance. While this is a great series, I had a few issues with believability in the plot line (as in would that really happen?) But overall, I quite enjoyed all three books and recommend them for anyone looking for a good romantic suspense series.

4 stars (I liked it a lot and would definitely recommend)
4 stars (lots of action and suspense to keep me intrigued)

I received an ebook review copy of this book through NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Thanks to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Publishing for giving me the opportunity to read Three Missing Days by Colleen Coble.

I've been lucky enough to read all 3 books in this series before they were released. I had never read Colleen Coble until this series.

I've loved this series. And I love this book. I don't like to do spoils in my posts so all I will say is that all the conflict in this book was great. I loved seeing the love between Jane and Reid come together - not only for themselves but also for Will. I enjoyed getting more backstory for them.

I've seen posts saying this is the last in the series, but I hope not. Because I feel there is more story to tell for these characters.

I came into this novel with a bad attitude. I initially tried to read it as a stand alone, was extremely confused, got a hold of the audiobook of the first novel in the series, disliked it...skipped the second book, and forced myself into this one.

There are a LOT of characters and a LOT of backstory. I know a couple people said that they can be read as a stand alone, I’m not sure I believe them. I had a lot of trouble in the first 10% of the novel and couldn’t figure out what was going on, hence why I took the time to listen to the first book. A slight improvement to my understanding, but still thoroughly disappointing. The premise of this book really hooked me and I felt let down when I actually began.

I also had trouble with the writing style. There are things that are just dropped in unexpectedly, a lot of repetition, segues into new places and conversations with no notice. Is it cause it’s an uncorrected copy? Maybe. I couldn’t get past it and had to frequently stop, reread and try to puzzle through what was being said. A bit of a killjoy for me.

What I liked? I was beginning to get into the investigations... There was an element of mystery that hooked me in, despite all the things I didn’t like about the book. I didn’t see the culprit coming, and that was nice.

The ending tied up the book nicely. It was a bit choppy in my opinion, but a decent ending. This series was not my cup of tea...and I’m not sure I vibe with what I’ve seen of this author’s writing style.

I would like to thank Netgalley and the publisher of this advanced digital copy for the opportunity to read this novel in exchange for an honest review! All opinions expressed are my own. Upon publishing of this novel, I will also be posting my review to Amazon Canada.

This is book 3 and the conclusion of the Pelican Harbour Series. If you haven’t read the first 2, it’s still okay to understand this. But a lot of events have occurred prior leading to this book.

The story follows Reid’s ex-wife returning to the Harbour and causing problems for him and his girlfriend, Jane. A lot of mysteries surround her, but the worst happens when she falls off the dock at Reid’s house. His son, Will is under suspicion as he was present when the tragedy occurred. Now, Jane and Reid must find evidence to prove the innocence of their son.

Aside from all these drama, Jane is dealing with her past. Because of these things happening have to do with her one way or another. She has to find her mother whom she hasn’t seen in years, in order to find answers. She also tries to remember the three Missing Days, just before she escaped the cult because the key to setting her son free lies there.

This was a fast paced Thriller that I enjoyed. Jane and Reid are tested in various ways and they fight through. I liked how their friends and family were supportive, helping out in any way they can. If you love thrillers about cold cases, then this is the book for you.

Much thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and Colleen Coble for this ARC copy.

This was a good book, but it was the ending so I was a little lost. I think is best suited for fans of the series or it ends up being confusing. I was a little lost, but I was able to finish the story. Still, I think I would have done better if I had picked up the other books first. Also, I thought Jane could be way too emotional at times. She was way much ad I was like, wow. I think maybe the author was trying to end this last book with a lot, but it was not really suited for me as a new reader to the series.

This book is the third (final) entry into the Pelican Harbor series which features Chief of Police Jane Hardy through a series of mysteries and her family relationships with her ex, Reid Dixon; her 15 year old son, Will, that she was separated from for most of his life; and a passionate, if distant, father, Charlie. This is the first from this author so I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book and was pleasantly surprised and will look forward to more from this author in the future. This is a Christian mystery suspense romance thriller.

This book it starts with two deaths in a house fire—a CEO of a local testing laboratory and a firefighter who was part of the response crew. As the investigation begins, Jane is soon distracted by the death of Reid’s ex-wife under suspicious circumstances that make Will the obvious suspect.

The rest of the book is Jane, Reid, and Charlie unraveling the two apparently separate death investigations, family relationships that are somehow related to both, and Jane’s missing memories of three days when she was 17 and heavily pregnant with Will and which hold the key to them all.

I appreciated the writing, the vivid description of the characters and setting. The story builds to a satisfying conclusion. The Christian theme is consistent throughout without being so heavy that it overshadowed the story.
