This was a mixed bag for me.
Seducing the Assassin was a sweet, light tale. There was a distinctly Victorian steampunk feel. The main criticism I have is that there was a really rapid development of romance that wasn’t completely believable.
Darkness Rises. I wanted to like this, but just couldn’t get into it. There were way too many characters introduced simultaneously and referred to by multiple names. I found myself having trouble tracking all the characters. Also, insta-lust transformed to fated lovers keep ch too quickly for me.
Her Clockwork Heart was my favorite in this set. The romantic leads actually had history and plot development, the story kept me immersed, and the female lead in this Victorian era novel kicked butt in a wonderful way.
I was given an arc of this set in exchange for an honest review.
