Decent but their hookup/romance kinda just went from 0/them thinking the other didn’t have feelings for the other to 100/nice hookup session out of nowhere haha

Besides the romance issue, the “mystery” was entertaining; was it the best I’ve read no, but it kept me engaged.

I love this series and all the guys that come with it. While each of the books in this series can technically be read as standalones, it's so good I recommend reading from the start. This book has a wonderful storyline and great characters. I was so happy that Cody finally got his HEA.

Cody's much deserved HEA

I love Cody & Wade! The chemistry, the lust, all the feels!! A true opposites attract match!

I love how Elle weaves mystery and intrigue into all her books, yet these two had me hooked I forgot to follow the clues to guess the whodunnit.

I love Cody's chaotic but kind and messy way. I related so much to Cody and gruff, sexy Wade is perfect for him!! Such a great story and great to see all your favorite couples cameo too!! I love this series, and highly recommend it!

I was eagerly waiting for Cody’s story and I was not disappointed. He’s always been a favourite character in the series and to see him finally get his HEA made my heart happy.

Cody loves his staff, can be a bit dramatic at times, is full of kindness for others and totally oblivious to the fact that Wade has feelings for him. He believes Wade still thinks of him as the gangly teen he met at summer camp many years prior. Wade feels he’s not the type of man Cody would want a relationship with but still carries a torch for him anyway. They remain being oblivious to each other’s feelings until the UST between them finally ignites and has them steaming up the sheets, and other places!

All of this occurs whilst the resort is extremely busy with special events, a wedding and numerous other guests. Not to mention a mystery death and other sinister happening’s going on.

I was hooked on this very enjoyable read from the very first page. There’s a great cast of main and secondary characters, an interesting and engaging plot, plenty of chemistry and heat between Cody and Wade and a longed for HEA worthy of the romance novels that Cody adores.

The Real Thing by Elle Keaton and narrated by Michael Dean is book 5 in the West Coast Forensics series. If you follow my reviews you know I have a great love of Michael Dean. His voice and the way his brings the characters to life makes any book worth listening to. Pair it with a well written story and it's

I enjoyed this one. It had a different feel to the previous books, but that worked for me.
We’ve watched Cody and Wade interact in the other books so it was nice to see it from their perspective. I liked Cody and how he went with it. He got his opportunity and never looked back. His determination at keep the resort running was well done.
Wade was a harder nut to crack but I think that was to do with his family struggles. I did like how this was resolved.
The story was entertaining

Sweet, adorable Cody finally gets his story. Cody is the owner of the Brooch, he’s hardworking, adores his staff, and will give folks the shirt off his back. He’s also a bit bumbling and clueless. But he’s not the only one that’s clueless, there’s also Wade, the handyman and all-around fix-it guru. He can’t see what’s right under his nose.

Both these adorable men have the biggest crush on the other, and they are completely oblivious to it. Cody needs Wade’s sureness and competency, and Wade is drawn to Cody’s kind nature, love, and encouragement. Together they are completely loveable.

As the busy season begins at the hotel, and the weather is kicking up, some sketchy things start happening. Thankfully they have each other to turn to as they try to keep things running while also trying to sleuth what is going on.

Loved these two. They were sweet, and the story was uplifting (you know, as uplifting as murder and kidnapping can be!). And there are lots of funny moments with the rest of the hotel crew.

And the ending…swoon!
