This is one of the best books in the Bridgerton series. It has the most to offer. The plot is engaging and has a very heavy dose of both mystery and drama. There is heart and humanity in novel that isn't as fully present in all of the other books of the series. Hyacinth is one of the most loveable members of her family and I'm so thrilled there was so much Lady Danburry. Hyacinth's relationship with her is so delightful. The only reason I didn't rate this book higher is the pitfalls of Gareth. For one, a lot of his character and situation seems derivative of other characters and plotlines. The drama with his dad gives very much Simon and Sophie, he draws like Benedict, he's another rake we don't know if we can trust like Simon. Also, he constantly put Hyacinth in compromising positions that are motivated by manipulation, entrapment, and darkness. Yes, he redeems himself and he does truly love her. But it doesn't discount the coercion and the way he uses her. We all know there is no consent if its not informed consent. Would have likely been a 5 star read otherwise.

I love the sense of adventure in this book. For once, I enjoyed both main characters in a Bridgeton book. Well worth the wait. I connect to Hyacinth's desire to solve the case and her struggle to find the right person. Gareth struggled with emotions around his father even long after his childhood. Lady Danbury is always a plus. As with any Bridgeton book, there's parent trama, the reformed rake and virgin, and other overused tropes which are getting super old. I also miss Lady Whistledown, which made this series so unique. The second epilogue wasn't satisfying to me. The first was fine,
but the kid's actions didn't feel real. I would try to figure out how they got there and probably showed off to someone as a kid. Not let someone else take the glory or just put it back.

Men oerhört underhĂ„llande lĂ€sning.

It's just fine. There isn't much plot, in way of events actually happening. The best part of the book is the banter between all the characters. A plus for being the least problematic of the Bridgerton books I've read so far (Duke & I, Viscount, and Offer), because the bar is that low.
