It took me forever to finish this little book! It reminded me of Colleen Hoover's It Starts With Us in that I feel both books were written to appease their readers and nothing more. Also, after three books of only Feyre's point of view, it was a bit disorienting to get an abundance of character viewpoints in ACOFAS. I think it would have been easier to follow if Maas included just Feyre and Rhysand, but she kept adding POVs and I had to keep going back to check whose I was reading. Maybe that's a me problem, idk. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I feel like this was a waste of ~230 pages but Feyre opening the art therapy studio was cute.

So Cassian is basically Anakin Skywalker? Did anyone else pick up on that?

Definitely the slowest and least action packed of the series. Feels like a filler book to set up the next.

This book was not my favorite. I think I could have done without reading this book. Only a small portion of this book was needed for the transition into the next book in the series. The rest of it felt like filler material.

Reads like BBC holiday special for the larger ACOTAR series. It included some important character development peices and some foreshadowing for future books, but for the most part pretty light on plot development. It was a cozy read that felt a but like an extended epilog for Feyre's story. Necessary and enjoyable to read, but not the epic tail that the other books in the series feature.

I have mixed feelings. While I don't think it was the best book I've read from the series, I do think it had some redeeming qualities.

It tended to drag on, particularly with the numerous shopping scenes. I couldn't help but think that the book could have been shorter if those scenes were cut out.

The book did manage to make me continue disliking Nesta. To be fair, she's not coping well with the aftermath of the war which explains her behavior towards Cassian and others. On the other hand, Cassian deserves much better than what he gets in the book. I have hope that she might be able to turn things around in the next book and prove herself worthy of his love and attention.

I think it's still worth reading, but you wouldn't miss anything if you didn't.
