DNF @ 45% Bummed by this as I really enjoy this author, but could not get into the storyline or care about the characters.

3.5 stars. This was cute! Not mindblowingly amazing or anything, but just the kind of sweet little romance I was looking for. At first I wasn't sure how I'd feel about it starting with both Kellan and Brady already having crushes on each other since I tend to like as much build-up as possible and actually see the main characters meet, but it ended up working just fine for me. I liked that they were both kind of hovering around each other semi-flirting but each having their own reasons to stay away, until of course eventually they can't. When I was reading this, I was very much not in the mood for any major angst, so I also really appreciated how generally low-drama this was.
SpoilerI was preparing myself for some big conflict and break-up before a final reconciliation, but that doesn't really happen — I mean, they keep saying they need to stay away from one another but then fail at it. Even when Kellan's dad finds out about them, his reaction is basically just, "I'm happy for you, but Kellan can't be the bat boy anymore, sorry," but it's not a major blow-up. And then the entire team sticks up for them, and he's like, "Well, okay, I guess it's fine," and that's it! Along the same lines, not sure how realistic it is that an entire team of ostensibly straight college guys would all be so accepting right away to find out their team captain and the bat boy had been secretly hooking up, but since I wasn't in the mood for huge angst, I was happy to go along with that.
And there were good secondary characters – both their families were great, and I also really loved Jasmine. I found Maclain a bit irritating but also intriguing enough at times to make me want to check out the sequel which features him even though I originally hadn't planned on continuing with the series. So yeah, this wasn't extraordinary, but it was a solid, cute little romance which came right when I needed it.

This was sooo sweet and cute. Loved all the side characters and the relationship between the MCs.

The narration was stellar.

DID NOT FINISH: 43%

I was an audiobook. The voice actors were bad enough that I couldn’t continue and it colored how I might have felt about the story.

This one was great. It had a lot of my favourites like college guys, sports, and a gay virgin, it really couldn’t miss. It was cute and sweet with not a lot of drauma and good amount of steam. It’s fairly obvious who the next couple in the series will be, but I’m sure to continue reading anyway.

Nice college story with a lot of nice characters. Made better by the narrators.
The mandatory trouble in paradise was ridicoulus. Everybody who had an opinion, adults included, called Kellen's parttime, unskilled job "his dream" or "his everything", like a kid living with his parent might end up homeless when losing his job for breaking rules.
