I like to read tie-in novels to learn more about my favourite characters. This book was disappointing in that it focused on an extraneous character whom I didn't know and didn't care about. This in turn affected the other characters, in particular adding another love interest to Gwen's list (seriously, isn't that getting a bit full?) and putting Jack into a weaker role. I'd rather read books that focus on Ianto, Tosh and Owen

I think I'll just stick with the tv series rather than attempt the tie in novels. The characters I've become attached to don't feel like themselves. It had it's moments, but not nearly enough to keep me reading.
