But that ending though! Tears everywhere. So good!

But that ending though! Tears everywhere. So good! Aiden and Alex are beautiful together. The finale is one of the best I've read.

Despite having just finished this book/series, and the blurb's promise of stunning and action-packed, my feelings toward the conclusion remain a resolute "meh."

The writing was repetitive (I get it, Aiden's eyes are silver/grey/stormy/metallic etc.), Alex's priorities were a bit skewed, and very little of the 300 pages seemed to contain much plot and excitement. It was almost as if the author forgot that she *wasn't* writing a contemporary teen romance novel. Not to mention the lack of real character development (for everyone but Seth) and the throwaway subplot "twist/shock" that might have been an interesting development, had it been pursued, and instead ends up being disproved and forgotten about soon after.

Also, that ending? I'm all for happiness and love but the neat little gift wrapped package disguised as a final chapter was a bit too much. Especially considering the short stick that only a singular someone seems to have gotten.

So again, meh. The brief battles were fun, but unfortunately neither developed enough nor unique enough (see: previous battles in previous books) to make up for everything else.

Conclusion: meh.

I'm giving the series 4 stars, not necessarily this book as I honestly don't know what to give it.

I am happy that the series didn't drag on to what felt like a never-ending conclusion with a bunch of filler non-sense we don't really need. I almost felt like that during [b:Apollyon|9897164|Apollyon (Covenant, #4)|Jennifer L. Armentrout|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1350101819s/9897164.jpg|14789350] and this was why it had the lowest stars overall. If it hadn't ended in Sentinel I'm honestly not sure if I would have continued. We knew that the gods were going to go out in an all out war with our mighty Apollyon's but I will say it did have some pretty badass fighting scenes and some even more awesome love scenes. (PG Rated of course)

Some small spoilery ahead.....

Aiden and Alex grow so close and I am very happy to see them be able to have each other in the end. Even under the circumstances. Can we all agree we fell in love with Seth all over again?!? I was very angry with him but my gods, I love you Seth. Seriously <3 (Horray for his own spin-off!!!!!)

Things kind of became to predictable for me near the end. I love the feeling of surprises and I felt like I didn't have any this time around. I will say however, that the way things turned out made my insides smile. Jennifer L Armentrout has become one of my favourite authors and The Covenant series is another one to add to my favourites list.

Wow! what a book! This book was sooooo good! Seriously, Jennifer L Armentrout is one damn good writer and she is absolutely one of my favorites! Sentinel is a perfect book to end a serie, it had everything! I was in love with the characters, the plot, the setting and I loved the gods! they were so funny! an the ending, it was just perfect not over done or anything just perfect. I am sad that one of my favorite serie is finished but I loved it and I will 100% read it again and again and again...
5 stars and more from me♥

PS: Can't wait for Seth's serie! OMG! AAAAARH!!

This book has wayyy more romance scenes than action scenes, which I didn't expect since they're going to have a big war and all that so that's such a letdown.

it was okay

Thankfully this book wasn’t too long. I was able to get through it via audiobook. It dragged on for a bit. I was glad to finally conclude this series. Bitter sweet ending
