Je ressens la même chose que lorsque j’ai fini « Vers la beauté » également de Foenkinos. Quel auteur formidable.

Bouleversant. Horrifiant. Magnifique.

No rating, because how could I give the tragedy of someone's life a star rating?

Charlotte is a beautiful book.
It is intense, melancholic, sad, a gem reflecting death, and pain, and the unfiltered experience of life as a Jew during World War 2.
This book features everything disastrous, but also beauty, creativity, inspiration. Freedom during a time where there was none.

"... - the beauty and the terror were two sides of a single coin."
(That's a quote from Pat Barker's 'The Silence Of the Girls', but I thought it fitting. It perfectly sums up this book and all its uniqueness.)
