I don't know how to rate this yet.Never have I ever been this conflicted while reading a story.
Nothing at all like I thought it would be......I was looking for a gritty real life drama, instead I get rape fantasy porn.....
Beware to readers that do not like violence against women. There is a bit of it, but it is needed for the story. I did not find this intolerable, but I did "feel" it, and I give the author credit to be able to get that depth of feeling across to the reader. Olivia is a blooming teenager when she meets what she thinks is her "knight in shining armor". What she doesn't realize is she's on the shortlist for Caleb and his revenge. She's a pawn. And she will learn her place... even if it hurts him. Enjoy this first part of the story... and rush directly to the next one.. you will not be disappointed.
Highly disturbing but addictive. The author sucks you into the story and doesn't let go.

Whoah. It's dark, disturbing, abusive, I felt violated... but above all, the plot is great.
I probably shouldn't have liked this as much as I did... seriously, I shouldn't have. Caleb has got to be the sickest asshole I have ever read about...
This is probably one of the first erotic books I have read (though, most of the romance novels I read should be classified as erotica due to how detailed the sex scenes are) and it's impressive that it has a plot (most erotica novels don't from what I hear).
This was really well written and I want to read the next one just to see what happens.

I really don't know how to rate this book, I cannot say I loved it or even liked it, but I think it's interesting.
I liked how Olivia never truly gives up, and I understand how the whole situation with Caleb is confusing to her. Don't get me wrong, I do not like Caleb, and there's no excuse for his behavior. But he’s the only one who sometimes is not so mean to Olivia, and even, on rare occasion, kind. Sometimes even I find myself sympathizing with Caleb, so as I said, I completely understand why Livvie is confused. But how messed up is that? After all the horrible things he has done? So, does she really love him? Or does she have the Stockholm syndrome? I hope it’s the latter. Caleb truly is a bastard after all.
The character of Caleb just shows how sometimes our environment and the people around us canshape us, but still not change us because I think that deep down Caleb doesn't like the path he's chosen (yes chosen, maybe when he was a kid he did not have a choice but as an adult he chose to become a murderer and a rapist and that's just inexcusable) and that says something about who he is at his core. I don’t really like him, but like Olivia I prefer when he opens up a bit and is nice to her. I hope that in the next book he does something to try and become a better person.
The character of Olivia is interesting; she’s just a kid who’s been suffering her whole life because of her mother (which I do believe loves her but just takes her for granted). She doesn’t have anyone and because of this she only relies on herself. What I like about her is that despite the fact that she thinks she has started developing feeling for the man who kidnaps her, she still wants to escape and doesn’t give up, which is something others may have done. She knows Caleb’s a bastard and I hope that when the time comes, she doesn’t choose to say with him.
And yet at the same time I want Caleb to have a happy ending, maybe not really a happy ending, but I want him to realize that what he’s done is bad; I want him to feel sorry and to stop destroying people’s lives. But most of all I wish he chooses to save Olivia. Even if he dies in the process. Because that way Olivia will know that someone cared about her enough to die for her and that way Caleb would be someone who chose light over darkness.
