After her boat is trapped in a story, Macy is rescued and taken by a kraken named Jax. Jax is fascinated with his new possession but soon realizes that he cannot keep her a secret. Macy and Jax have to work with both the humans and the kraken to stay alive and together.

This was a sweet, spicy, exciting book. I love a good monster/alien/other romance and Tiffany Roberts never disappoints. Jax and Macy are both instantly attracted to each other despite their physical differences. They both work hard to understand the other and have very little misunderstandings even though they have two totally different backgrounds. I loved that they were both so committed to one another and were willing to do anything for each other. Great read!

As always, check for TW’s and happy reading!

i liked it. this book deserves a better rate. yes, i won’t read next book in the series bc there will complicated political issues between kraken and humans and i don’t want that. but in here i got a glimpse of both worlds and it was enough.

at first macy annoyed me but she had a huge character development and it was very beneficial for everyone.

ew i hate when heroines are like: “i hate to disappoint my parents”. girl, you owe them nothing.

didn’t camrin feel that she wasn’t into it? or he was into forcing? sorry, but i hoped he died in the storm. when he at the end was like: “i always knew you didn’t feel the same but i didn’t want to believe it”. it wasn’t good enough for me. at least he came through and helped at escape mission.

i didn’t even hate the pregnancy trope but how everyone could be so ignorant and not to think about the possibility of it?? macy was 25 and didn’t know where unprotected sex led?

My preferred escapism seems to be romance with a twist or two.
This was an healthy and sweet romance but with a sea creature, a kraken. Interesting world building and information about the krakens. An engaging story but not a new favorite. 3.5 stars.

Never thought I would think a Kraken was sexy... but this book changed my mind.

Treasure of the Abyss is definitely not for everyone, but I rather liked it. The world (as has been the case with all of the books I've read by these authors) is interesting with a backstory that unfolds over the course of the book, the characters were sympathetic, and the suspense and action sequences were very well done. I suspect that the series will continue with Macy and Jax's friends getting together (the hints were not especially subtle), and I am interesting in reading more about this world.

If you’re going to do tentacles, this is how to do it!

Macy is thrown from her boat during a storm and rescued by Jax, a kraken who’s distrustful of humans. Stuck on an island with only Jax for company, Macy finds herself connecting with him in ways she never could connect with her own kind.

What I Loved:
The world building was amazing! This is the first in a series, so not every question is answered, but Tiffany Roberts paints such a vivid picture; it’s easy to fully immerse yourself into the experience.

Macy and Jax were so well-developed! Both had backstories that pushed and molded their characters. It’s important to me when reading spicy books that the MCs have an identity outside of the relationship, and that’s evident in both of these characters.

I was worried the spice would be too much for me (because, you know, TENTACLES), but the kraken share so much in common with humans, I honestly didn’t register it as odd. As always, Tiffany and Robert do such an amazing job of building up the relationship between the MCs before introducing romance into the plot. I especially enjoyed how this book showed them figuring things out as a couple.

What I Loved, Just Not As Much:
While the characterizations and world building were phenomenal, the plot was a little inconsistent. The beginning was great- fast paced and engaging - but the middle of the book slowed down quite a bit. I think the story would’ve benefited from condensing this section just a bit.

That being said, the final third act of the book was SO GOOD. I loved the turmoil and action as Macy and Jax faced antagonism and prejudices.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this to anyone interested in sci-fi romances!

I absolutely loved this book! Tiffany just has a way of capturing my attention with her wonderful and enticing monster romances. I had so much fun reading this book!

I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this book. I didn't know if I could handle the kraken and tentacles, but I really loved it. Jax was such an amazing, strong, giving, and protective H. I liked their slow burn romance, and the plot was interesting as well.

I enjoyed this book but forgot to write my review right away, so I am not going into all the details I should. Needless to say, Tiffany Roberts are an amazing writing duo, and I will keep looking into their backlist.
