Medium burn romance that surprisingly have a good plot. I’ve read a lot of RH that didn’t have a good plot and just kept focusing on the attraction between the characters.

Well… this book is definitely different. The plot was refreshing and kept me entertain during the whole book.

This is a really fun beginning to what seems to be a series, since not everything is resolved at the end. I really loved all the detail given to the character development. The programming stuff was well thought out and it added a sense of believe-ability to the story. Emma is a fun character and it is easy to relate to her. I also loved the men. Each had very distinct personalities which helped in keeping the separate in my head. The relationships between Emma and each of the guys has a slow and natural pace, something else I find refreshing, since it is going to be an ongoing tale. The intrigue/suspense part of the story is also well detailed and gives it just enough sense of drama. This isn't a story that is quick-moving and full of sex scenes. Instead, this is a slow burn, with no actual sex, that has a wonderful pace, it is not a quickie in any sense of the word. I am really looking forward to the rest of this story, and finding out where they all end up.

It’s refreshing to find a great contemporary reverse harem romance. This book was enjoyable from start to finthe sh. I love the heroine, the guys, and the authors way of telling her story. I also really like that the heroine is in STEM and the author gets the challenges women in mostly-male professions seek. This is both a slow burn, and really steamy at the same time. I actually really like the way the author managed to give us some steam without making things move to fast for the heroine. My only complaint is that the next book isn’t available yet.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Vested Interest by Bethany Jadin is a slow burn reverse harem romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Lisa Zimmerman and Kale Williams. This is book one in the Code Series and does end on a cliffhanger.

This is the first book of Bethany’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. I cannot wait for the next book in the series Hidden Agenda to be released on audible.

Lisa and Kale did an amazing job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their projects in the future.

Wow - I have not been a huge fan of RH stories, but this is not your typical RH. Instead of the highly erotic sex based love stories, this one actually has a plot and characters that you want to know more about. Bethany is fighting her way in the male dominant world of computer programming. Pentabyte is a company who wants to buy her work. But it is not until she gets closer with all five men does the romance start to smolder. This is a slow burn that has a great story. I look forward to more in the series.

Vested Interest was the perfect first book in a great new series by Bethany Jadin. There aren't a ton of contemporary rh series that I love so it was super great to find this one!!
Emma is such a great character. She's funny, a stress-induced cooker, super smart, and a great friend. When she is invited to a Gala for code-writes, many companies are interested in buying her code once she finishes. Among those interested are the five guys of Pentabyte. Although wary of trusting men in the coding field after being betrayed in the past, when Emma is in trouble she lets the guys help out.
What I really liked about Emma is how independent she is. Even though the guys are helping her, she is worried about repaying them and not taking advantage of any assistance. She doesn't want to owe anyone and is worried about aid being used as leverage for her code (yep someone really did a number on her).
The guys of Pentabyte are so great! They're all very different personalities yet still manage to be super close friends. This is a slow burn rh, but the relationships are starting to develop.
The only thing about this book that I didn't love was the INSANE CLIFFHANGER it ended on! Like in the middle of a scene!!!! Luckily book 2 is out so I don't have to wait to read what happens next!
