I really freakin loved this book and was hooked from the get go. I loved the characters and the development of them as individual and together. The plot was really interesting and my heart was stopping towards the end, cause of all the tension. Jescie Hall plotted bits of information in so well throughout the book, that you kept getting little oh and giddy moments. High;y recommend reading but do check trigger warnings.

Wow. Just wow.

I knew this was a "dark romance" read, but damn. Dark is almost an understatement. But there was a romance underneath that darkness, regardless of how it started.

Briony is a straight-laced, religious worshiper aiming for the church's top spot. Bishop. She's the outcast-looking one in her family. She has black hair, while they are all blond. She has pale skin, while they all have nice pigment to it. And she has a stalker.

Aero is the darkness that comes into her life, and she finds out more than she would have, had she stayed on that religious path.

I loved the characters, and how they all played integral parts to the story. The writing was great and I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

There is an entire page worth of trigger warnings on this one, so if you are sensitive to almost anything, this one is NOT for you.

Definitely a 4.5 for me, however after it sits with me a while, it may very well bump up.

This book has tons of spice, to me it was almost to much and made up most of the book. I was not really into this book like I have other Dark romance books I have read. I found myself keep putting it down and wanting to DNF. I liked the idea of the story but it just did not catch my attention like I had hoped it would. I made myself give it a chance and kept hoping it would get better but I just was not into it. I will try to re-read it again sometime, maybe I was just not in the vibe when I was reading it. But as of now this is my opinion and how I felt about this book.

I liked this book it wasn’t bad but this was basically all smut and no plot.

5/2/2024 UPDATE: This book lives rent free in my mind i don't feel like i gave it a fare rating but after months of this book being on my mind i feel like this book deserves to be rated higher.
