This was such a fun ride!

Brin and Gabe are top tier and beautifully ride or die for one another.

I loved watching Brinley come inter her own and assert herself as the story went on and Gabriel’s own transformation was sweet.

Fair warning, the smut in this one is a bit more feral than your usual MC romance (though not unheard of for this level of dark romance), so check your trigger warnings.

That said, the spice was definitely spicing throughout. And, despite there being plenty of it, it never felt repetitive or boring.

All in all, definitely adding to the permanent collection.

This was too insta-lust. The FMC blames falling for the bad boy on the fact that no other man could get her off before him?? I feel like if she grew up in Savannah, where apparently there's a notorious motorcycle gang, then she would have a LOT more hangups about getting with him. Also, this book was MC light. Other MC books are way more disgusting in how they treat their women. Just saying this is misleading for MC fiction.

FMC gets laid off and breaks up with her bf of 2 years on the same day so she moves into her parents old home. How did she not have to pay property taxes or upkeep it (like mowing the yard) while she was away for all these years? Who knows!!! She needs to repair the porch, her neighbor suggests she repair and sell his old car, so she takes it to the "best shop in town" which happens to be owned by the MC president Gabriel Wolfe, and she also runs into her old best friend Layla who is getting married to an MC member, Alex?, and gets invited to her wedding events. All of this results in her meeting Wolfe. Insta-lust on both sides. He comes onto her really aggressively, fingers her, possibly would have led to more if not for club business. But the real forced proximity event occurs because FMC witnesses Wolfe murdering a man. So either she dies or else she becomes his property/captive. Again, it's all pretty consensual imo.

Not much happens until near the end when Wolfe goes missing. He's been kidnapped by his cousin who's mad that he wasn't chosen to lead the MC. They torture Wolfe and would have killed him if FMC hadn't put an airtag on Wolfe and showed up to save him (Wolfe had been training her to shoot and self-defense because his own father beat his mother).

I didn't expect this book to be this good.... I mean, it is a dark romance and you need to be in the mood of it if you are not used to this genre (like me). The spicy....oh my god... I have never read nothing like those! The knife scene is going to live rent-free on my mind. I do love Wolfe, he is CUTE and raw. Brinley was also great. She became a total badass and I was like GO MY GIRL!!! Now, I need book 2 :(
Btw, the cover is GORGEOUS!!! <3

[2/5⭐️]
If you like hallmark movies & dark romance this is a good book to read lol.

This book needed a better story line than it was given. Truthfully it started off decent, 60% of the book we finally got a plot after erotica erotica and more erotica…and some character development. But I felt like the entire love interest was too soon. You’re telling me 3 chapters in and homegirl is getting finger fucked already by the MMC??

Anyway…I hate animal pet names lol “hummingbird” he could have stuck to “wicked girl” but this is just my opinion

Overall it was good, it was the breather I needed to take break from a really intense series.

perfect for what my little heart desired

Don’t take my 3 stars the wrong way, I rate hard and save my 4 and 5s for something mind altering but this was an easy read, the perfect amount of spice and dark romance, good character development and building. This is what I needed to reopen the door to my love of MC clubs. This was so well written and the plot flowed well. I’m excited for the second book! I wanted more from the epilogue and I’d love to see a second gen in this series
