story of Trent and Miles

This is a neighbours to more holiday romance, featuring Trent Montgomery and Miles “Rooster” Johnson, and is book two in the Christmas Daddies series.

Miles and Trent have been neighbours for five years but it takes a kid (Bubba) with a baseball bat to persuade Trent to ask his dad out on a date. Unfortunately the date is a disaster, with Miles not saying a word and being his clumsy self, and Trent not wanting to give it a chance at all. This doesn’t stop the two men from becoming friends through the persistence of Bubba.

This was such a beautiful story. Miles has crippling anxiety which makes him unable to speak sometimes. I loved seeing Trent be around him and not pressure him to speak but allow him to get comfortable and eventually open up. In the silence, Trent could finally see Miles and falls for him harder every day. It’s a bit of a slow burn but once they connect, it takes off in a spicy flurry.

Bubba was the best kid ever! He fiercely loved his Pops and knew Trent would love him too, such a smart kid for so young.

I love how these books are free of any negativity towards the couples, nothing but support and love. This series is such a joy to read, highly recommend it.

I am in two minds about waiting for the audio for the third book or jumping in. Either way, I would reread these books again and again.

Things to expect in this MM romance are:
2nd book in series
MM holiday romance
Neighbours
Tree farmer x teacher
Player x Single dad
Anxiety themes
Matchmaking son
Disaster first date
Both have a crush
Friends to more
Slow burn
Spicy times & dirty talk
Book lovers
Love of their lives vibes

You Can Count On Me is book 2 in the Christmas Daddies series by MY QUEEN Fae Quin.

This book gripped me by the feels from the first chapter. Witnessing the awkwardness that was Trent and Miles's first date was something between a cringe and a heart break. I loved that Trent was a real gentleman and never thought any less of Miles for not talking or being clumsy.

Trent, oh Trent. See, I thought his brother Paxton was a dirty talker in book 1 but clearly, the sexy talk runs deep in that family. Oh my, I can't wait to see what Ben will bring to the table in book 3.

Everything Trent said was full of inuendo and being in his head was so entertaining! How he could switch from sweet to spice in a flash was so much fun! And him being a possessive MC was a pure delight.

And Miles... gosh, I was so broken for him. I wanted him to get loved and cherished like he deserved and Trent stepped right up! My good man! It was beautiful to see Miles feeling safe with Trent and getting the confidence he needed to just say what he wanted to say. I loved both of them together so much. The way Trent stepped up naturally with Miles's son Bubba, with all the vulnerability any person would feel when taking on such a big role.

This story was low to no angst, the humour was again, on point, and the writing was as breathtaking as ever. It gave me all the ooey gooey mushy feels, and although they weren't numerous, the spicy scenes were plenty detailed and hot enough to get me warm around the neck. I adore this loving, family world Fae has created with this series and I can't wait to read more!

*I was offered an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

"I’d thought that it was ridiculous when people said you could meet a person and just know you were going to spend the rest of your life with them.
I wasn’t laughing now.
How could I? When I only ever felt at peace when I had my hands on Miles and his heartbeat thudding against my own."

very sweet and precious. i loved everyone, and i loved the slow burn building of friendship to love after a frankly horrendous first date. the reason for my rating is just that i felt things stretched out a bit at the end and also was very tell-y not show-y. but a very enjoyable read and im so intrigued for robin and ben!!

I enjoyed last year's Fae's book very much and I was looking forward to this one. It's been extremely beautiful and moving.
Miles was the star of this book. He was lost and struggling with his anxiety while trying to raise a kid. Bubba, an eleven year old kid who had a special attachment to his baseball bat, was sweet and smart, and so grown up. The relationship they both had was touching and I absolutely loved them both.
Trent was just going through life without real plans. He didn't even know what he wanted or needed in his life until Bubba threatened him with his bat. That first day between Miles and Trent was a total disaster, but it led to something beautiful and precious.
I loved how perfect Trent and Miles were together. They understood each other, and Trent was the most amazing boyfriend ever, so patient and understanding with Mile's struggles. It was like watching, or reading in this case, the perfect love story. Not everything was perfect, which I liked very much, but their flaws made them perfect for each other.
This book showed that loving someone and being loved in return can make a world of difference when someone is having a hard time to go through life. This is the story of two soulmates that lived so close not knowing they were the other half. But then they finally met, it made the world right for both of them.
This novel is beautiful, emotional, it made me cry and wish I could hug Miles all the time to comfort him. He was such a special human that I was very happy he found Trent. This story is about love, family, getting to know the love of your life and letting others help you when you're struggling. It is one of the best reads of this year for me.

4/5
Not gonna lie, the first half of the book was hard to get into at first. But miles, god how I love you. The sweetest character I’ve ever come upon, he was indeed not perfect but all he needed was someone to love him for who he was and Trent was it. I loved how this book concentrated on mental illness and how Mileses thought were portrayed in the book. I could relate to his struggle and feel him for that. Loved how Bubba

SOOOO DANG GOOD!!!!!

I absolutely LOVED this book! I honestly couldn’t put it down. Going in blind was probably the best thing I could have done for this book.

Trent and Miles were absolute PERFECTION! They belong together and complimented each other so well. Just two broken boys trying to find their way in life the best way they know how but still missing that one final piece.

I am SO glad I took a chance on the second book in the series, as I liked this one so much more. The sex scenes still aren't really for me, but they don't make up the entire second half of the book so they are much more skippable. This is super heavy on hurt/comfort and angst, and it is perfect for people who love a cozy read that breaks your heart and puts it back together again. The way kids are written in Fae's book is perfect IMO, and much better than lots of other authors. I cannot wait for 2024's Christmas book, as it is going to be Robin and Ben!
