I can’t lie this book what pretty bad. I mean it was so so for the build up but there’s no way that girl could have survived 3 years in a hole without eating unless she was eating the people that the monster be headed… but then they shoulda said that & the ending was dull

This is a no from me. Apart from cries in a forest there wasn't really anything scary about this story. It started off so well but completely fell flat for me. But every series, whether they're a continued story with the same characters or ones you can read as stand alone all have that 1 book that falls completely flat for everyone.
This was a phenomenal short story. It started off slowly and put you into a headspace of not knowing what to expect...
I don't know what it is about Malerman but he really does scary very well. I think that it is so scary because it could be real? I know we have all heard folktales and spooky things that lurk in the woods but this just felt believable enough.
I enjoyed the visuals and honestly didn't know what to expect at the end. I would love to see this adapted into a short film.

I’ve read several of the creature features in this series at this point and I thought this was one of the better ones IMO. It was one of the only ones I’ve read so far in the series that gave enough detail to feel like a complete story instead of just a slice of a larger one. That being said, if the author did choose to write more about this creature I would def be interested!
