The Curious Case of Benjamin Button by F. Scott Fitzgerald

Short and sweet, and full of the typical dry humour F. Scott Fitzgerald is rightly famous for. My only criticism is the complete lack of emotional connection I felt towards any of the characters, but I don't believe that we are meant to feel anything towards them.

This book is very different compared to the movie. While the movie is more romantic and positive, this felt a bit desolate and feeble. I still enjoyed the story and appreciated how fast-paced it was. The whole bit about Benjamin and Hildegarde was unseemly, and I think that was the main reason why the book is not as charming as the film. I did like seeing how Benjamin and his father's relationship progressed as they reached a similar age.

I was so curious to read this as the adaptation directed by David Fincher is one of my most favourite movies of all time ...
The book usually is written beautifully by F. Scott Fitzgerald is certainly missing the point, I mean it revolves around the social issues with Benjamin - born old and getting younger but it lacks the adventure and romance which is described in the movie, which is so necessary to provoke fascination and emotional connection with the central character in a curious case.
The movie starts with the rejection of Benjamin by his father and he is brought up by a black woman running a charitable institution, this mother-son relationship is described very beautifully in the movie and mainly the romance between Benjamin & Daisy is so notable.
Although ultimately it's a short story to put all these points but I think it could be made better.

Great short story for everyone like me who hasn't read F. Scott Fitzgerald before and wants to get to know his books. Beautiful writing style. But a little disclaimer for everyone who reads it because of the movie that came out a few years ago. You might get disappointed as it has almost nothing to do with the movie which I have to say felt more executed. It is a short story yes but for my liking it's to short. The characters don't really stick with you.
In conclusion story wise the movie was better than the book in my opinion.
