One of the best YA books I've read in a long time! I read it in one day and I could totally relate to the main character and what she was working through (having struggled with anxiety myself). The book also made me laugh out loud multiple times while I was reading, which happens rarely for me!

It hit a little too close to home.. I think I'll try again when I'm feeling better. But seeing Audrey find love gives me a lot of faith for myself also linus is so adorable

This book was so flipping adorable!!!! After reading the summary, I immediately knew I would love this book, and I did! Having never read a Sophie Kinsella book, I was fully unaware that I would fly through this book or that it would be so relatable, funny, and heartwarmingly cute!!! I really enjoyed reading the scripting for Audrey's film included in the novel. It was hilarious but could also be really serious at times which I thought mixed well with the way it was written. My favorite scenes were probably the ones between Linus and Audrey since they were so cute together.<3<3The parents were also a great pairing with their support for Audrey and amusing dialogue.;) Felix and Frank were awesome characters as well! Felix had me dying laugh multiple times and Frank was a caring yet funny brother too.;) Audrey's character development was beautifully written and the ending was also perfect! What I find so great and refreshing about Finding Audrey is that this book is very adorable and witty but also handles the topics of anxiety well. I definitely recommend this if you're looking for a cutesy contemporary! Fingers crossed Sophie Kinsella writes more YA contemporary novels!

"I think what I've realized is, life is all about climbing up, slipping down, and picking yourself up again. And it does't matter if you slip down. As long as you're kind of heading more or less upwards. That's or you can hope for. More or less upwards."

It's refreshing, reading about anxiety whilst you're battling your own lizard brain. Though I was very disappointed in the manipulation of the romance in relation to her recovery, and there are plenty of unrealistic moments, I really enjoyed the book. A funny, quick read that draws attention to the existence anxiety and depression in a human yet light hearted way - like a sitcom.

It conveys the message of 'okay, you have severe anxiety, but a boy will fix you'...which is wrong on so many levels.

Audrey is a 14-year-old teenage girl who got bullied at school. As a consequence of this, she is diagnosed with Social (and General) Anxiety Disorder as well as Depressive episodes; therefore, it’s more than difficult for her to live a “normal” life again. For example, we all make eye contact, one may find it difficult to hold it, and others may not, but for Audrey it’s extremely hard to look people in the eye; she feels like she can’t cope with some people’s gaze, consequently she wears dark glasses all the time, even at home.

The story isn’t only about Audrey, but her family. Frank, her “video game addict” brother —who is of similar age—, Felix —her little brother— and her parents.
Another important person in Audrey’s life is Linus, Frank’s friend, who plays an important role in her healing process.

Regarding the story, this is told, sometimes, directly by Audrey, and others through her video recordings of her family, so you feel like you are actually watching them interact with each other.

The author gives the reader an interesting view of Audrey’s coping process. Not only Audrey’s doctor, but her family’s singular experiences and Linus are essential in Audrey’s progress. The story isn’t focused on Audrey’s hard time itself, but on the way Audrey tries to get better.

I absolutely recommend Finding Audrey, because it’s an interesting and even funny reading. Resilience is elemental, and Audrey proves that even when you think you have got too much, and you can’t deal with certain things anymore, there’s always hope. We all have the strength to pull through. Of course it’s not easy nor is it quick to recover from depression or anxiety disorder, but it’s nice to read a different, positive and encouraging perspective on this.
