This book is really hard to read. I couldn't figure out the narrative point of view. It was jarring every time it changed. The editing wasn't great either, which interrupted the flow of the story. And the story itself is meh. It really was not my cup of tea.

This book was captivating from the start. There are many different ways this story can unfold and I am interested to read the next installments of the series. There was love, violence, intrigue, death, and sorrow in this book. We will see where it goes next and if Anika and Talvi can find a way to stay together.

Some cool concepts but poor delivery. Plot got lost at times as the characters had no sense of urgency even though it was an emergency situation. Relationships were also tenuous. Ending was rushed and poor.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ this book is exactly what you expect it to be from the description. If you're looking for character development, good pacing, or a solid plot, you're in the wrong part of the library. But it's fine for what it is.

This book is amazing. It's not predictable at all. Characters are great. And the writting is amazing. It was so good I had to read it in one night. I'm on pins and needles waiting for the sequel :-).

Meh. I didn’t HATE it but it wasn’t good either. Talvi is annoying and childish throughout the whole book and Annika drives me crazy with her indecisiveness about their relationship.

This was a good story... buuuuut I did not like Talvi... at all. He was a terrible love interest. I wanted her to end up with the druid guy. Nicholas (SP?). He was cool and he had badass powers. But no, Annika had to be a stupid girl and pick the guy that didn't treat her well. Sigh. I want to know what happens next but I do not want to see how their relationship progresses.
