I absolutely loved this novel. The first book I loved and really connected with Eden. And when the opportunity arose the ARC book 2, I jumped at it. And it didn't disappoint, in fact I loved this even more. Eden was a fantastic character that I felt I could relate to. As for the male characters and love interests, they were fabulous, and I felt torn between Truro and Rooke. I loved Truro, who gave me Robin Hood vibes. Yet I was just as torn as Eden with Rooke, and I loved the tension between them. This second book was full of action, romance, and adventure. If you enjoyed book 1, then you will LOVE this one.

Picking up where When Eden Falls left off, Eden and the Crew are now faced with a whole host of new obstacles whilst also dealing with the emotional strain of the events since landing on the forgotten planet.
As more information about the planet, the politics and struggles of the inhabitants is revealed The Crew is left conflicted on who to believe and who to trust. New alliances & friendships are formed whilst some, new and old, are torn apart.
.
I fell in love with all of the characters, even those I loved to hate. The mental scenery was beautiful and I was so swept up and into this story.
I absolutely loved the character growth and the plot twists!
When Worlds Awaken had me obsessed. I didn't want to put it down! I needed to know where the story was going.
.
Filled with action & adventure, intrigue & suspicion, politics & deception, this story kept me guessing all the way!
.
I highly recommend this series, especially for those who love Sci-Fi that is not hard to read. The storyline is ruthless at times, but it's one of the reasons it's so good.
If you love Battlestar Galactica you're going to love this series.

The first word on my mind for this book is — Wow!

So much happens in this book, and so much is revealed. The author balances Eden’s personal life and struggles with a complex political setting and an epic struggle against monsters amid a backdrop of environmental disaster. With all of the various elements, Wilson somehow manages to capture how such a word would look and feel and *be*. It’s amazing.

This doesn’t mean that everything the characters say and do is something the reader approves of. But the immersive feel of Wilson’s writing is such that one must accept that this is the characters’ viewpoint — that they have life experiences I the reader don’t. I don’t approve of all of their choices, but I have to see their humanity, warts, scars, and all.

Finally, I was excited to see how well the author tied all of the plot threads together. Everything makes sense at the end. It’s not the resolution I wanted, but, again, it makes sense. I do think that the prophecies could have been more overtly stated, but even the understated nature of them suits this book in a way I can’t really find fault with.

So, this book deserves all the stars, and I dearly hope Wilson will write another!

I want to start by thanking Alana Faye Wilson for giving me the opportunity to read When Worlds Awaken as an ARC in return for an honest review.

When Worlds Awaken, is 100% a five star read for me. It is the second book in the When Eden Falls duology. This duology is honestly life and if you’re looking for a love story in the midst of a mysterious, post apocalyptic world this book is for you.

  • Friends to lovers
  • Slow burn romance
  • Dystopian fantasy
  • Soft sci-fi
  • Myths and prophecies
  • Love triangle
  • Action
  • Found family
  • I’d d!e for you vibes

In When Worlds Awaken, we continue to follow the narrative of Eden and her crew right where we left off in book one. This book is packed with action, heart ache, adventure and so many plot twists. I struggled to put this book down as around every corner was a plot twist and when I tell you that you’re not ready for what comes next you’re not ready. Alana had me sitting on the edge of my seat, screaming and crying throughout the entire book.

If I could give you one quote to make you want to read this duology it would be:

“We are creatures of the same universe. Just because we were born on different planets does not mean we do not belong together”........ “I was meant to find you”

Alana has done an exceptional job with the world building and character development in this book. This has become one of my favorite duologies and I am so sad that my journey with Eden is over. Thank you Alana for such an extraordinary and uniquely special duology. I will never stop recommending and I cannot wait to get my friends addicted to Eden’s story xx
