The Outlander series is simply AMAZING. I have read the entire series through multiple times. Reading the book description, it wouldn't normally be something I chose, but im so glad I did! Now I am a FOREVER FAN. If you love to read, you need to give the series a chance...you will fall in love with the Fraser Clan!!!!

The stereotypical characters and voices in this one killed me a little but I still enjoyed the overall experience.

I really enjoy these books and how they go back in time in such an interesting way! You get to see even more of Claire and Jamie's love story in this book and it's definitely worth reading if you've enjoyed the series so far!

There are always new fiascos and adventure when these two are together and it makes for some very interesting stories!

There is quite a bit of cursing and a lot of sex scenes just as a warning. They were pretty easy to skip over.

Genre would definitely be Adult Historical Fiction with some Sci-fi (time travel specifically) added in.

After learning that Jamie might not have died at Culloden, Claire, Roger and Brianna start trying to track him down, using historical sources from the 1740s while in the 1960s. It's slow going, but they discover a Scottish legend and decide that the legend must be him (they're right). And then they learn that he's in prison, but not what happens when he's released. Until...

On the other side, we learn Jamie's side of the story, from not dying at Culloden to how he escape the British for 7 years before being arrested and imprisoned, and what happens after being released.

Claire goes back through the stones, and meets up with Jamie in Edinburgh, where he's doing many things, including smuggling. When Young Ian is captured by pirates, they have no choice but to brave the 2-4 month sea voyage across the Atlantic to rescue him.
