🥹. I loved this story! It was so easy to envision the night circus and all of the tents and different acts. I loved how vivid the writing was and it felt like you could really attend the circus as a reader. I was so confused where Bailey’s storyline would take him but wow! I loved it. The time jumps confused me sometimes — having to keep up with different years all within a close date range threw me off a little bit. I liked how the ending wrap up most of the storylines but I would’ve loved a final piece of closure on the main romance. The mention of hearing his footsteps and smelling her perfume was a loveeeelyy touch though. Excited to read more from this author.

In my whole life, I have only seen two circus performances, one from Circus Circus of Las Vegas and The Ringling Brothers when it came to San Diego. They were both amazing and funny but nothing compares to this.

Le Cirque des Reves is exactly the type of circus anyone of any age would love to pay to see. I'm sure it would top every circus in the US and beyond, with the wonders that it brings and things that couldn't and shouldn't be possible outside of a dream. I love the book even more with the competition between the two illusionists, who are more than illusionists, and somewhere in the middle of the competition a love story blossoms, a love story that will touch every reader's heart.

When I first started reading the book, I was slowly losing interest because it didn't exactly go at a pace I wanted it to go and it was kind of confusing how it kept jumping from the past, when the circus was still being constructed, to the future. When I began reading about future, I asked myself what does this have to do with the competition and I later realize what happens in the future is connected to the competition, just as much as everything else. I kept pushing myself to keep reading and I don't regret it at all. This is definitely a must read, no doubt about it!

Atmosphere, but at the expense of plot, character, romance, stakes... basically anything

This book was so fantastical. A bit confusing at times because the dates are sometimes not chronological but it was beautiful. The imagery was amazing I almost at times felt like I was enjoying the scenes first hand. I loved this and probably will re read eventually. I started it as an audiobook which actually confused me so when I switched to just reading it everything made more sense. Loved it!

This was really good but I probably would have enjoyed it more reading vs listening on audiobook. I liked the love story between Marco and Celia. I liked all the different perspectives throughout the story. It was a unique story with the circus. Just difficult to follow along on audio.
