Im-pac-tan-te.

One of the praises this book has received, " how much of ourselves should we give to those we love? And how much must we betray them to grow up?"
The writing of Tara Westover kept me clung to the book with all emotions. I've felt rage at some parts and my heart had melted at others. While reading the book, I somehow read it imagining her telling the story in a very calm voice. I guess after one has to go through so much of growth and pain, one does learn to accept any situation in life.
The book very beautiful sheds like on conditional love, guilt, mental health disorders, parenting, distorted families and boundaries. It's almost emancipating.

Thought provoking and moving - it was “unputdownable”. I listened to the audiobook - and as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I was so thankful for the author’s note at the beginning. The religion her family practices/practiced is not something I can fathom. I think this memoir is an important look at pride, family, and love - and how the first will ruin the second and third.
