I loved this one by the end. Jo is such a force and I can’t wait for students to read it.

I really enjoyed listening to this as an audiobook. There are definitely some books that are difficult to follow through audiobook, but this was not one of them. And the voice actor did a wonderful job bringing each character to life with their distinct voices. I really enjoyed it.

Slow build, but ultimately really enjoyed it! Everything came together in the end -- perhaps too conveniently?

This is a quality YA historical, but historical fiction isn’t my favorite. The anti-Chinese racism was well represented, but I felt the ending  wasn’t very realistic.
