It should be obvious to the authors but guess not: having a heavy cheating subplot and the MMC being aware of it and not telling the impacted party puts a massive damper on what should be a cute romance. Fucking wild. The third act conflict sucked and getting back together felt totally tainted by his complicity in Dane’s transgressions.

Book had potential but that completely ruined Ethan for me (once he said he knew Dane had been dating). Too strong a sense of justice.

First, I'd like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC copy of THE UNHONEYMOONERS.
I liked this book! I think it's pretty well known that I've taken a liking to Christina Lauren's novels. I thought this was a cute, sweet and funny read, that was a nice pallet cleanser to my reading list. I loved the funny banter between Olive and Ethan that was ongoing throughout the story, only to turn into a sweet romance between the two of them. One of the main topics I really enjoyed, was Olive's awareness of self growth. She, being a pessimist and a magnet for bad luck, it was nice to see her come into her own and live her life the way she wants to; and not by social norms. This book is definitely a fun and beachy read!

3.5- i feel like maybe I should round this up to a four, but honestly I wasn’t too impressed. A perfectly adequate book to read.

I can't express to you how happy this book made me. It was just the right amount of hilarious, dramatic, realistic, heartbreaking, sexy and sweet. It was fucking fantastic. This is the kind of messy relationship that struggles to make sense of itself, with flawed characters who have to grow together and as themselves in order to fit.

Minor spoilers below

I bumped it down a bit because I think Ethan could have been more well developed as a character and he was a bit oblivious towards the end.

Quick entertaining read. Would have given it a higher rating if the MN place info and pronunciations had been more accurate and organic- the mini glitches pulled me out of the story flow. One of the problems was that I know where the streets and locations are and I was using them as actual descriptors vs what I think were more of a suggestion. Also Ami should have gone to St. Kate's IMO- but that's picking nits haha.
