25 years on, Turcotte's poetry holds up very well. It's easy to see why younger Native American poets admire him and are influenced by his work. The struggles depicted here are familiar to many of us as are the joys.

If you enjoy Native American poetry from Simon J. Ortiz, Joy Harjo, Louise Erdrich etc, you likely will enjoy this.
