There are probably tons of other texts that do Ted Bundy's story more justice than this convoluted. redundant book that Ann put forth. I almost feel like my hating it and talking about hating it is somehow disrespectful to the dead so I won't really drag this book how I really want to but... it was just not very good storytelling or writing. It is very clear that Ann finagled her way into Ted's life to finish this book. She went from just a mere associate to one of his closest friends by simply putting herself in a position to remain in constant contact with him for the sake of this story. The result is long and arduous to read (it seriously felt like it would never end even though the font is not very small at all) and the language and constant repetition and the jumbling of facts gave it the feel of a high school book report. I can see no other reason for this book to be such a success other than it is perhaps the first of its kind, a book about one of America's first [known] serial murderers. Ann Rule succeeded in being a pioneer but wasn't as successful in her execution (no pun intended). I hear that her other books are more or less the same and to be honest this book has me not wanting to really delve into any of her other works. It was just THAT bad.
An incredulous coincidence, and good story telling. I felt the book fell off towards the end, and I lost interest.
Listened to the audio. Pretty good narration but she pronounced ‘Sammamish’ wrong and spelled out N-E instead of saying ‘northeast’ for street names.
The story was well written and flowed smoothly. Interesting perspective on how such a narcissistic sociopath can pull over on people.
