Cute short and fast. Felt more like reading a synopsis of a much bigger story and could have been far more fleshed out to become a longer read.

Very little description of the world just...suddenly MAGIC!

Read for the Trans Rights Read-a-thon and probably won't check out the other titles simply because not my length/detail/pace style.

Finishing it in 2 days is a record for me.

Heads up for some triggering behavior!

Oh my gosh. So cute. I loved the chemistry between Ella and Princess Lizabetta.
Read for the trans right readathon!

could've used some more fleshing out+editing, but still - short but sweet for the most part :)

Cinder Ella was a (surprise!) Cinderella retelling, with Ella being a trans woman & the royalty at the ball being a princess. This novella was overall light-hearted but certainly had difficult parts with Ella’s step-family being transphobic. I love a re-telling that makes the story more diverse than just white & cis-het. This one did not disappoint! Read for a cute, well trained pet dog, found family, insta-love, sapphics, and a touch of magic!

This was a quick trans retelling of Cinderella that hit the most important beats and was a fave of a trans teen I know. I liked the reimagining of the fairy godmother and the way Ella finds both friend love and romantic love.

“For the first time she could introduce herself how she wanted. She got to define her own self. And no one was going to stop her.”

A very enjoyable retelling of Cinderella.
I really liked Ella, Lily, Lizabetta and Heather. They were lovely characters, and I was cheering for them.
There are some of the classic elements from Cinderella that had been changed, but it did not bother me.
