I’d like to start off by saying I did not see the twist coming. That’s a huge plus for me! I get so annoyed when I can already figure out the ending halfway through the book- definitely not the case in this one.
I found myself invested in the storyline and curious to see how it would end… and that’s where I take away one star. The ending was pretty darn confusing, though not enough to make me unhappy. Enough to be questioning how much I liked the book.
Upon filling out my review, I realised I did not like most of the characters in this book, which is not a first for me when it comes to Frieda McFadden books.
I listened to the audiobook and thought the narrator did a great job.

Okay.... I found this book VERY hard to follow. Not only was the timeline quite disjointed and switching back and forth between first and third person but there were a LOT of characters which isn't helped from them being called different things (olive and dean?). But I found myself at the end with a lot of unanswered questions like what did the homeless lady have to do in the story. It felt like she was mentioned a lot for what ended up being nothing? ((Edit: After googling apparently Lydia paid her to stalk/scare Cassie but it was only in the printed version of the book??))
ALSO - Can we talk about how cassie has been running this bookstore for god knows how long where the majority of your customers are med students asking for text books that you don't have and yet it takes you until the epilogue to think maybe I should start selling them??
