Vuong has such a masterful way with words and it’s beautiful to read. I will admit some poems did fall flat for me but I admired and loved the majority of them.

Beautiful writing. I’m glad to have listened to the audiobook narrated by the author and heard the poems in their intended rhythm. Ultimately poetry is not really my thing and while I can appreciate this book, a lot of it was over my head.
