Point Horror were all the same - cliche plots, silly horror tropes, fun as hell

I spent most of this book chortling to myself, noting down every time Scotty says something is "bogus!", and shaking my head at Scotty continuously digging himself deeper down in his hole.
Then I got to the really disturbing part of the story where Scotty goes all toxic masculinity on his stalker's arse and thinks. Yeah, I'm not kidding about that part. Pages 149 - 157 were just creepy and disturbing, with Scotty's stream-of-consciousness freakout.
More notes about these scenes with Scotty and Shannon:
Anyway, this book was a mix of hilarious, disturbing, absolutely not PC in any way, and gasp-worthy. I actually physically clapped a hand over my mouth at the moment when Scotty arrives at Lora's house with his cargo and turns the lights on, and gets a surprise.
What can I say? Scotty is lucky that Lora forgave him. But what I want to know is, what exactly DID Scotty and Shannon do? Was it just making out, or was it a full on love fest cheating session? Either way, he's lucky on many counts.
Here are my notes jotted down while reading (I noted every mention of the word 'bogus', and added one myself for posterity):
p.3 - “a young Christie Brinkley”
p.4 - Scotty’s sad family story, another single mum
p.5 - green velvet party dress ... and Scotty’s mum’s dress, yikes!! Fuchsia and electric blue, and platinum hair
p.6 - cat Fluffernutter

This would have probably been something to shrug off back in the early 90s, but these days with violence against women so in the spotlight and rightfully so, it was really quite a troubling experience reading those pages. Even if some of my notes say that that chick needs to be taken out because of how she killed Ernie and Fluffernutter. Not cool, chick. Not cool at all.Anyway, this book was a mix of hilarious, disturbing, absolutely not PC in any way, and gasp-worthy. A very unlikable main character who really doesn’t suffer any consequences for his cheating. Been going through old teen horror books from the 80 through the 2000s and this is the low point for me so far. I’ve loved revisiting other R.L. Stine so maybe this one just did not hit right.

The author couldn't have done anything better but it still didn't hit the same

This was my sisters book, I was way too young to be reading this.
Further to this ... Goosebumps freaked me out. So why I thought it would be fine to read these "adult" books is beyond me, but still every time my sister would borrow an R.L. Stine, Or V.C. Andrews I would try and read it... sometimes I wouldn't get through the whole thing on account of being terrified.
