Audiobook Read (Libby)
Narrators: Kyle Mason, Angelina Rocca

Picked this one up simply because I wanted to hear the female narrator. She is one of my favorites, but actually really enjoyed this quirky small town opposites attract.
And I do love a hero firefighter!

It had a great beginning. I would have loved to have more of the enemy storyline on page. For being enemies they sure hooked up pretty quickly and it didn’t give me that true enemy to lover vibe, but I still enjoyed it. I loved the personality of the h. She was a free spirit and I was for it. But it seemed like she lost a lot of that great personality when her parents arrived. Who are also free spirits so I was really confused why their personalities bother the h so much. (I get it, she felt alone growing up) I think it just added unnecessary conflict. I wish she wouldn’t have lost that personality in the end. She was a prude when it came to things her parents did tbh. Be proud of your weirdness girl! The H was meh, I can take him or leave him. He has more and more stress added to him toward the ending which I guess was needed to add more conflict to the story, it didn’t seem to go anywhere other than trying to wrap the story up. The conflict was resolved quickly and for the most part, off page or maybe I missed it….idk I really struggled to finish the book. I really wanted to love this book but after h’s parent arrived it seemed to lose something for me.

I’m still fanning myself from Ace and Addy!! They have soooooooo much chemistry going from enemies to lovers. This was a great book to start off a new series in Hell and introduce the Hellman brothers. I can’t wait to read about them!

~I was given this book and made no commitments to leave my opinions, favorable or otherwise~

Moon Goddess and the Fire god
This is my first time reading Marika Ray, but it won’t be my last. I thoroughly enjoyed the story of Addy and Ace and meeting some of the quirky people inhabiting the town.
I loved Addy’s connection to all things nature and her beautiful hippie soul as well as Ace’s grumpy, over-responsibility to doing thing by the rules.
There are great funny moments, some heart melting moments, some heart wrenching moments and lots of steam.
Addy and Ace progress from guarding their hearts and hurts to finally dealing with the past and moving forward with trust and openness to the ultimate HEA.
Can’t wait to read about the rest of the Hellman Brothers!

Addy is, for lack of a better word, a hippie.  Years ago, she saw that Ace was upset.  Trying to cheer him up, she gave him her floral crown, which he promptly tore up. This solidified their standings of hate against each other.
Now Ace is a firefighter and has somehow been roped into helping Addy with her first aid class.  She wants to take a holistic approach whereas he wants the traditional.  Angers flare but sometimes hate isn’t what they think it is.
Opinion
This is a laugh out load, good time. Parts will having you rolling on the floor while other pets will have you screaming in frustration. If you are looking for a fun read to lighten your day, this book is it. As an added perk, it is the first in a series.
Many thanks to Net Galley and to Marika Ray Publishing for providing me with an ARC of this book.

It took me a long time to warm up to the heroine, but I ended up rooting for her new boundary setting. I loved the family dynamics between the brothers and mom. It was delightful.
