This was a really intriguing, sort of somewhat semi-balanced narrative account of Jim Morrison's life. Minus points for weird pseudo-intellectual philosophical crap, and for making the other Doors just fade into the sidelines. Plus points for painting an interesting picture of Morrison struggling with his identity almost constantly and in a lot of different ways.

I read this book in 1991 when the movie by Oliver Stone was first in the theaters. It was during my phase of remembering the influence the Doors and Jim Morrison had on me during my teen years.

If you're a fan of the Doors then you can;t do worse than pick this up. It's an interesting read detailing the history of the band and the trials and tribulations of Jim Morrison.
