Nyles Adams!!!!! I just love me a man that knows what he wants and GOES AND GETS IT!!!! And add the fact that he’s a poet …. Here go my panties right now 🩲 😂

A year after her messy breakup from her stripper ex-boyfriend Wesley, Trevia McCall is still hurt from his betrayals. She is over him, but she would be lying if she said she still didn’t miss the D.

Spoken work artist Nyles is the kind of man Trevia loves, he’s handsome, talented and cocky as hell, and like I said he knows what he wants, from the moment Myles sees Trevia he KNEW he found his wife! His engery when he saw her for the second time was just EVERYTHING!! Talking about apply that pressure!! 👏🏾👏🏾

I loved how he loved Trevia! He was so understanding,  patient and honest. Trevia did get on my nerves just a little bit with some of the moves she was making, like girl grow up and stop being so naïve. But she wasn’t bad at all. These two were definitely meant to be!!

Shit I need to find me a poet like yesterday!  This was my favorite from this series!!

I was on an Alexandria House binge until I got to this book. I didn’t love the first book in the series, but it was ok. This one? I didn’t like at all. I didn’t like the characters, or their interactions, and I think their relationship was toxic. Neither one learned and continued to make the same mistakes. Nyles was conceited and pushy while Trevia needed counseling to deal with her trust and co-dependency issues.

I also disliked how they joked around after Denise beat up her boyfriend, and joked about how men don’t report when women abuse them. That made me not want to continue with the series at all.

I loved her portrayal of black love without using any harmful stereotypes.

Nyles was my favorite part of this book, and his cockiness drew me in from the moment he was introduced. I’m a huge fan of poetry and there was some amazing “spoken word” in this book!

I wasn’t a fan of Trevia, especially her constant mentioning of “miss kitty.” The phrase itself is very cringe to me, but beyond that, it was mentioned soooo often in the early pages of the book that I was literally begging her to go fuck anybody

Nyles was straddling the line between cocky and confident. Trevia with her dreams lol.  Their relationship was possessive, messy but still very entertaining to read about!

This insta-love was a bit too saccharine for me. I wanted a little bit more as to why Trevia got with that loser Wesley. She didn’t have enough time to really deal with that before she fell for Mr. Poet.
But I was happy for her as she deserves it. I do want to know more about her sister. That relationship seems more complex and would be more Angsty.
