The characters weren’t “lovable” but I didn’t hate them either. The worst was there were a few time jumps that really confused me for a moment the main one happening in chapter 31. I would still try her other books though. 

Also I just realized the author is Black but idk if the heroine was tbh so maybe this was diverse.
