I'm very conflicted. I enjoyed large chunks of this book, but there are just some problems with this that really irritated me - like glossing over really very significant events as if they have no lasting impact. The whole ending is just bizarre. And it kind of feels like Matt Haig is trying to say something about religion, but it comes across very ignorant and condescending.

A re-telling of Henry IV, Part 2. I don't read many retellings (if any) and I haven't read Henry IV Part 2 so take what I say with a grain of salt, but Haig did an amazing job of making a medieval/early Renaissance text into a modern and digestible story that is just as tragic as the original tragedy. Also love the dog POV.
