This book is an amazing synthesis of the process of teaching from the margins and at the intersections race, class, gender, and sexuality. For anyone interested in the process of engaged pedagogy, black feminist writing, and/or memoir. The only negative for me was the repetitiveness. It unintentionally bordered on selling an idea at times, which I can say for certain was not intended. That said, it didn't impede my reading of the book and in the end, I really loved it! Made me want to read his whole bibliography!
