Pretty good one! It exists mostly to explore moral grey areas and that’s interesting. Good story. I was less interested in the flashbacks to Billy’s past, but they obviously impacted the actual story so I get why they were included.
[4.5*] Wow I loved this book and the main character of Billy Summers. And the ending...... perfect. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because, at one point when the second main character is introduced, the shift in story became kinda jarring but then it smoothed itself out. Also, he mentions a certain pervious President more times than he really needed to since it has nothing to do with the story (I had to deal with 4 years of him, I don't need to read so many references to him too).
But this is definitely one of his best books in the later part of King's career. I said it before but the old man still has it.

I really wanted to like this book. But I just didn't. I got bored and there were too many details and filler scenes that added nothing from the story. From what I read, I'd give it a 2.5 ⭐

Well, I have to say that Steve did it again! This is an excellent story with barely a glimpse of horror, the supernatural, gore (well maybe a touch, but not much), or any of the tags he has been labeled with. This is a crime story; a war story; a love story. This is tender and sweet; and it’s brutal and violent. These are complex characters—many of them, and not just one or two— we learn to care for, hope for, love, hate, and wish they were dead. I really enjoyed this story.
