This book was really hard for me to get into. I had become attached to Sigma and the recurring characters there that Tucker Wayne and Kane were hard to get into. Once I did however I really did like it. However the part I can never get used to is where the story I being told from the perspective of Kane. Still it helped get ready for their introduction I to the Sigma universe.

I have a soft spot for well-written animal characters (except fr Koontz's dogs who are too saccharine) and Kane is definitely the high point of this short story for me. There's nothing very extraordinary about the story. It is a solid thriller with a great relationship between Tucker and Kane.
For a deeper dive into their relationship and capabilities, check out Bloodline, in the Sigma series.

A short story. Quite fascinating. A specialist solder has left the army and taken the dog he worked with along with him. The two have a special relationship and special equipment makes it even more so. He notices, sitting at an outdoor cafe that a woman is being followed. So, he follows too and rescues her. He find out that her father is being held captive for a discovery and she is being followed to gain the information. So, he decides to help her out.

A kick-ass guy with a hero complex. A super-awesome dog.

Yup. Good combination for a diverting story. I definitely will check out the first full-length book in this series.

Sigma Force 7.5
Tucker Wayne .5

Tucker Wayne and his military dog Kane are traveling without purpose. When helping Aliza Barta who is being followed by armed men, they become involved in a search for missing gold stolen by the Nazis, Aliza's kidnapped father, and rogue NSZ agents.

A nice and very short introduction to Tucker and Kane, a partnership that will be meeting Sigma Force in BLOODLINE as well as having their own separate series. The relationship and connection between the man and the dog is wonderfully executed here. Rollins is a dog lover and does his research well. I eagerly look forward to more to come. 4 out of 5.
